Is it possible to 3D print a mouthguard?

Since 2021, this has been made possible by Clik.Fit. By scanning the upper jaw with video technology (intraoral scanner), all curves and shapes of mouth and teeth can be digitally recorded. Then using our own developed software we can turn it into a digital product and with the help of advanced 3D Mouthguard technology it is possible to 3D print a perfectly fitting mouthguard.

Difference between a boil&bite mouthpiece, dentist mouthguard and a custom-made mouthguard from Clik.Fit?

A preformed or boil & bite mouthpiece are mass produced and intended to offer every athlete an okay piece (one size, fits nobody). A dentist Clik.Fit custom made sports mouthguard are produced especially for you and on your unique teeth, therefore the fit is many times better.

The current dentist mouth guard works mainly with the bite principle, is produced manually and the finish of the sports mouthguard leaves much to be desired, often being too high, too thick and too long.

At Clik.Fit, we work with a 3D scan and fully digital production proces and after high-quality research, the sports mouthguard fits your teeth seamlessly. We take into account the curvature of your palate, the shape of each tooth and a small area of gum tissue, in addition we round off the mouthguard just after the 3rd molar and this makes the mouthguard irritation free.

Safe through maximum protection

The custom-made Clik.Fit mouthguard provides maximum impact attenuation that is distributed evenly across your teeth.

This offers many times more protection compared to a preformed or boil&bite mouthpiece. Clik.Fit mouthguards are made of a specially developed and formulated material in collaboration with Covestro, with a unique balance between flexibility, impact distribution and strength.

Cleaning

Heat does not affect the final shape of your mouth guard. Your mouth guard will deform from 100°C. We recommend cleaning your mouth guard in boiling water. Dishwasher or washing machine are also suitable. This keeps your mouth guard 100% bacteria free! You can also clean the mouthguard by cleaning it bi-weekly with steradent.

Fit of my custom-made mouthguard

Your mouthguard was designed in close collaboration with top athletes who use them every day. A perfect fit means more comfort, more air and better communication.
By using advanced 3D printing technology we are accurate to +/- 0.1mm, this means a perfect fit for any teeth.

My sports mouthguard is broken?

Impossible.
If it does happen, send an email to info@clik.fit with the complaint and accompanying photos and we will resolve it within 24 hours.

Will I receive a bill for my health insurance for the mouthguard?

Yes for part, the treatment cost with UPT code M61 a € 29.92.
 

Note! The M61 mouth guard costs a € 29.92 is not reimbursed in the basic insurance since 2021, this is at all health insurers an additional dental insurance is required and then you get in many cases 75% reimbursement of these costs.

Do you also have brace gaurds?

Yes, we could even fit it with our digital scan. However, this is something we don't do because it is too tight around the brace and chances of injury are increased upon impact.

For the brace period we recommend, in cooperation with the Dutch Center for Sports Dentistry, the BraceGuard mouthguard. You can buy the BraceGuard from us for € 29,95 in the colors, white, transparent, blue and orange.

FDA & CE

We take care of your health. We use only FDA approved materials. Combined with the scientific support of Dutch and English universities, we have developed your mouth guard. We have improved shock absorption, as well as the influence of saliva and sports drinks, which do not affect your mouth guard. Your mouthguard is also CE certified.
